July 16, 2003 -- Pranalytica installs Nitrolux-200 ammonia analyzer for ambient air quality monitoring in Bondville, Illinois with the Lake Michigan Air Directors Consortium (LADCO) and the Midwest Regional Planning Organization for an independent intercomparison with an ion chromatograph conducted by the Illinois State Water Survey. The results of this intercomparison will be presented in a poster October 22, 2003 at the National Atmospheric Deposition Program's Ammonia Workshop sponsored by the EPA (See Above).

June 1, 2003 -- Pranalytica is featured in a Business 2.0 article by Jack Hitt titled The Business of Fear that describes startup companies who have gained market traction in the homeland securitysector.

May 15, 2003 -- Pranalytica begins SBIR Phase I contract awarded by the USDA to develop laser-based sensors for monitoring livestock ammonia emissions. According to the USDA and a recent report by the National Academy of Sciences, ammonia emissions from agricultural operations are a high-priority problem for air quality regulators because of ammonia's role as a precursor to particulate matter formation. For this SBIR program, Pranalytica will work with Dr. Frank Mitloehner, an Air Quality Extension Specialist in the Department of Animal Science at UC-Davis, to develop ammonia sensors that are suitably sensitive and rugged for standalone field deployment in the hostile conditions of an agricultural facility.

Jan. 28, 2003 -- Pranalytica recently attended the International Forum on Process Analytical Chemistry (IFPAC) January 22-24 in Scottsdale, AZ, to exhibit its products and give a technical talk, "Sub-ppb detection of trace gases: Industrial, Medical and Homeland Security Applications."
